Before opening Smoke2000, we searched far and wide for an Electronic Cigarette that wasn't just another "decent product" that might stand peer to the competition. Electronic Cigarettes are by far less harmful than conventional tobacco smoking. In fact, here at Smoke2000, we have not heard of an instance of an Electronic Cigarette casing harm to anyone, and we do actively research this fact on an on-going basis.

1. You will not get any form of cancer from using electronic cigarettes.
2. Electronic cigarettes are not the cause or source of any other types of diseases.
3. They are "environmentally friendly".
4. By switching to electronic cigarettes from conventional tobacco, you will add many years to your life expectancy.
5. Second-hand smoke is a non-issue when using electronc cigarettes, because the smoke produced is water vapor.

There is some controversy in play at this time regarding the electronic cigarette. The F.D.A. has not approved them (but have not deemed them scientifically harmful) for the following "stated" reasons;

1. F.D.A. Statement - Electronic Cigarettes have not been "sufficiently tested" to assured their safety to users. Additionally, they contain some of the same harmful contents as tobacco

FACT - An initial evaluation by the F.D.A. itself that enabled it to make the statement found only 5 potentially harmful chemicals in common with tobacco. The chemicals were found at "just over detectable levels", meaning that there was almost none found.

The F.D.A. touts Propylene Glycol as one harmful chemical found in electronic cigarettes. Although present at minute levels, no evidence has been presented that this chemical has the potential to cause cancer.

1. Electronic Cigarettes will not kill or harm you. Tobacco has the potential to cause a heart attack tomorrow and present an immeasurably variety of health consequences through one's life, with cancer being at the top of the list.

Note: As some of our competitors will, we DO NOT sell raw liquid for cartridge refills because raw liquid can pose a serious risk of poisoning if taken orally in large quantity or frequent skin contact of the liquid itself.

OUR OPINION - The obvious benefits of using e-cigs over tobacco are outweighed in the eyes of the F.D.A. by the influence "Big Tobacco" (cigarette manufacturers) . As we have seen in countless other examples of Government interaction with large and powerful lobby groups such as "Big Tobacco", the good of the people more often than not takes a back seat to the good of the corporate bottom line. A 25 five year old smoker that switches to electronic cigarettes will cost Big Tobacco approximately $90,000 if that person only lives to only 60. ($7.00 per pack x 365 days x 35 years). If only 5% of the smoking population (25%) changes to Electronic Cigarettes, it will cost the Cigarette manufacturers 400 Billion over the term. NOT small change.
For them to not be pushing hard at the top Government levels to get e-Cigs banned would be very surprising.

Another major lobbying group, "Big Pharmaceutical" would love for the F.D.A. to deem the electronic cigarette a medical product, effectively enabling on them to manufacture and sell them (And probably triple the price). More corporate influence to enhance their own bottom line.

A few states (five) have also taken a stand against the use of electronic cigarettes, banning their sale (but not use) within their borders, albiet for a different reason. States charge a hefty tax on each pack of cigarettes sold. They would lose this revenue from each e-cig smoker that no longer purchases packs of cigarettes. It would seem that the State's coffers are more important than the lives of it's residents.
